Private seller guide

Sell your golf cart with a complete, credible listing.

A successful private sale starts before the advertisement is published. Gather ownership and service information, inspect the cart honestly, set a supportable price, create useful photographs, respond safely, and document the final transfer.

01

Prepare and price

Record the make, model, year, serial number or VIN, power type, battery installation date, seating, road classification, accessories, maintenance, known issues, and included charger or documents. Correct simple maintenance concerns but do not conceal defects.

Compare similarly equipped carts in the local region and account for batteries, condition, delivery, and modifications. Buyers will compare total ownership cost, not just the headline price.

02

Publish a useful listing

Use a specific title and describe how the cart runs, where it can be inspected, and what is included. Upload clear recent photographs and mark visible wear or damage. State whether local delivery or freight may be available without promising arrangements that have not been confirmed.

  • Accurate specifications
  • Seller-reported condition
  • At least three recent photos
  • Pickup and delivery details
  • A realistic asking price
03

Communicate and close safely

Keep early communication through the marketplace contact flow, avoid sharing unnecessary personal information, meet in a safe appropriate location, and let serious buyers inspect the cart. Be cautious with overpayments, third-party payment stories, verification-code requests, and pressure to ship before funds are verified.

Use a written bill of sale and complete any title, registration, decal, lien, tax, or ownership-notice requirements. Remove the listing promptly after the cart is sold.
